Turn your Kindle 4 Non-Touch device into a network scanner

Kindle Network Scanner

Transforms your idle Kindle 4 Non-Touch (K4NT) device into a network scanner.

The app scans the Wi-Fi network your K4NT is connected to using nmap. It identifies devices on the network and displays their information. You can navigate through the list of devices, and select a device to scan for open ports.

Clicking the image will open a video demonstrating the app in action. Devices shown in the video (and the thumbnail) are dummy data.

Kindle Network Scanner

Prerequisites

Jailbroken Kindle device with KUAL installed. To achieve this:

  1. Jailbreak your K4NT.
  2. Install Mobileread Kindlet Kit (MKK).
  3. Install Kindle Unified Application Launcher (KUAL).

Installation

  1. Connect your Kindle to your computer via USB.
  2. Copy the knetscan directory to the extensions directory on your Kindle.
  3. Eject your Kindle and launch the "Kindle Network Scanner" from KUAL.

Usage

  • Home Button: Exit the application and restart the Kindle framework.
  • Up/Down Buttons: Navigate through the list of detected devices.
  • Next Page Button: Move to the next page of devices.
  • Previous Page Button: Move to the previous page of devices.
  • Select Button: Scan ports for the currently selected device.
  • Return Button: Go back to the device list from the port scan view.
  • Menu Button: Rescan the network for devices.
